2011 Ford Ranger
The 2011 Ford Ranger is a compact pickup truck with a lot of power. Rated best in class for fuel economy, the Ford Ranger will give you all you’ll need from a full-size pickup but in a compact truck that costs a lot less.
There are three different trim levels offered in the 2011 Ford Ranger; the XL, XLT and Sport. Standard on all three trims is a 6-foot cargo box and a tailgate with a quick release feature. An available option for the XLT and Sport trims is a bed liner for the truck bed. The XL comes standard with manual side mirrors while the XLT and Sport editions come with power side mirrors. Step bars are an option on the XLT model and come standard on the Sport.
On the inside, the 2011 Ranger comes standard with a 60/40 split bench seat; in the XL the standard is vinyl but can be upgraded to cloth which is standard in the XLT. The Sport comes standard with cloth bucket seats and a center console, but the buyer has the option of a 60/40 split cloth bench seat. The XL and XLT have a floor console with two cup holders. The basic XL comes with an AM/FM radio but can be upgraded to a radio with CD player. The XLT and Sport come with SIRIUS Satellite Radio which includes an introductory six-month subscription.
On all three trim levels there is an option of a two-door SuperCab. The XLT and Sport models are also available as a 4-door SuperCab. The SuperCab models include two rear jump seats. Also available on the XLT and Sport Models is a Privacy Glass and Rear Slider package which includes rear quarter panel, black window and rear slider window.
The XL and XLT come standard with a 2.3-liter DOHC I-4 engine and the Sport is standard with the 4.0-liter SOHC V6 engine which is an available option on the XLT. All three models come standard with a five-speed manual overdrive transmission. Five-speed automatics are available as an option on all models and engine types. For towing capabilities all Ford Rangers come equipped with a trailer tow receiver hitch and 4x2 and 4x4 suspensions. The XLT and Sport trims that come with the V6 engine have Class III capability and can tow up to 5,800 pounds. The XL can tow up to 2,160 pounds. The XL and XLT have an EPA estimated 22 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. The Sport is estimated to have 16 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway.
All safety features available on the 2011 Ford Ranger come standard on all three trim levels. The Personal Safety System includes dual-stage driver and front passenger airbags which provide enhanced head and torso protection in certain side impacts. All Rangers come with a 4-wheel anti-lock braking system and a tire pressure monitoring system. This system will automatically alert the driver when a tire is low.
