2011 Ford Taurus

The Ford Taurus is Ford’s five-passenger, full-size sedan. The 2011 model expands on the redesign that took place in 2010, adding three new colors and a high definition radio added to the navigation system. The Taurus has an athletic design, with details and lines that give the car a sleek, yet assertive stance. The interior of the car has a clean, modern design, which maximizes space and ergonomics.

The 2011 Taurus is available in four models: SE, SEL, Limited, and SHO. The SE model has electronic stability control, power four-wheel disc Anti-Lock Brake System, and a traction control system. Standard features for the SE include front-wheel drive, 17-inch aluminum wheels, twin chrome exhaust pipes, color-keyed door handles, and a keyless entry keypad. On the interior, the SE comes standard with an auxiliary audio input jack, ice blue dashboard lighting, power locks and windows, and MyKey system.

The SEL model comes standard with SIRIUS satellite radio, dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control, 18-inch aluminum wheels, and auto-dimming rearview mirrors. Rear-view camera, push-button start, ambient lighting, heated front seats, all-wheel drive, power moonroof, and active motion font seats are all features available on the SEL model.

The Limited model comes with 19-inch chrome-clad aluminum wheels and Ford SYNC. This model also comes standard with rear-view camera, reverse sensing system, ambient lighting with six color settings, woodgrain trim interior, two memory settings for the driver’s seat, universal garage door opener, six-disk CD player, 10-way power seating, and heated mirrors. Optional features include push-button start, traffic alert, adaptive cruise control and collision warning with brake support, climate controlled front seats, heated rear seats, blind spot information system, and rain-sensing wipers.

The premium trim is the SHO. This model is the first and only vehicle in its class to use an EcoBoost engine. The SHO also comes standard with all-wheel drive, 19-inch painted luster nickel aluminum wheels, dual chrome exhaust tips, push-button start, leather-trimmed seats, high-intensity discharge, rear spoiler, and wiper-activated headlamps. The SHO model boasts the same optional features as the Limited, but includes a SHO performance package, which includes upgraded performance brake pads, 20-inch premium painted luster nickel aluminum wheels, electric power assist steering, and higher rated springs, tuned shocks, and stiffer rear suspension.

The Taurus is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 263 horsepower. It has a standard six-speed automatic transmission, which can include steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, to quickly and easily shift gear. The EPA estimated fuel economy for the Taurus is 17 mpg city and 25 mpg highway.

Every 2011 Ford Taurus comes standard with multiple standard safety features including anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control, front side airbags, and side curtain airbags. Optional safety features include a blind-spot warning system, pre-collision warning system, a cross-traffic warring system, and a rear parking sensor.

The Ford Taurus is roomy, comfortable, and has plenty of storage. The 2011 Taurus is an appealing reinvention of the classic full-sized American sedan.
